South African investors seeking investment in Afghanistan’s health, mining sectors

KABUL: A number of South African investors, scholars, and health sector experts, said in a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, on Monday, that they are seeking investment in Afghanistan’s health and mining sectors, Deputy PM Office said in a statement today.
South African investors said that with favorable investment conditions in Afghanistan, they are ready to invest in the extraction and processing of minerals in the country using technology, according to the statement.
“To support the healthcare sector in Afghanistan and provide quality medical services to the Afghan population, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan, we are interested in establishing a well-equipped hospital that meets international standards,” the statement quoted them as saying.
Meanwhile, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has assured any necessary cooperation to support investment in the country.
