Since IEA takeover 47,000 counter-narcotic operations conducted countrywide, ministry

KABUL: on the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday that since the takeover of the country by the Islamic Emirate, 47,000 counter-narcotic operations have been launched against drug trafficking across the country.

“In the operations, 119 tons of various types of drugs have been seized and 17,240 suspects have been arrested,” said the statement adding, that in the past nearly three years, more than 1,300 drug production factories have also been destroyed.

According to the statement, 22,000 hectares of poppy land have been eradicated across the country.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health also reported that 55,000 addicts treated by the Islamic Emirate.

June 26th is the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
