Ministry of Labor signs 8 agreements with 6 institutions

KABUL: The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs signed eight agreements with national and international organizations worth 3.7 million U.S. dollars.
Spokesman of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Samiullah Ibrahimi said that under the agreements, the institutions will provide job opportunities to the people in Kabul, Balkh, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Laghman, Badakhshan, and Jawzjan provinces, adding that 2,437 vulnerable children and their families will be supported under the agreements.
“Poor individuals and children who could not afford to go to school would be provided vocational training and cash aid,” the statement quoted him as saying.
Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Shaikh Abdul Bar welcomed the cooperation of aid agencies with Afghanistan and said that there is a need to expand the international aid for the self-sufficiency of the country.
At the same time, the representative of partner organizations in Afghanistan, Ghulam Mujtabi Rasool, said: “Last year, with the cooperation of this ministry, in Laghman, Kabul and some other provinces, one and half million US dollars have been spent on the needy people.”
