Uzbek investors seeking investment in Afghanistan

KABUL: A number of Uzbek investors in a meeting on Monday, with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, said that they are seeking investment in various sectors in Afghanistan, Deputy PM Office said in a statement.
“We are seeking investment in extraction, standard processing and coal-based electricity production, standard oil well drilling, construction of cement factory, standard extraction and salt production, standard textile factory construction and e-governance in Afghanistan,” the statement quoted Uzbek investors as saying.
Afghanistan is a suitable place for investment, they said.
Meanwhile, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, thanked the Uzbek investors for their readiness to invest in Afghanistan and assured them that the relevant ministries and departments would cooperate in their respective sectors.
After the establishment of the Islamic Emirate and the provision of nationwide security in the country, the interest of foreign investors to invest in various sectors of the country has increased.
