Deputy Governor of Balkh discuss various issues with Japan Ambassador to Kabul

MAZAR-E-SHARIF: The deputy governor of Balkh Mawlavi Abdul Hadi Abu Edress, met with Japan’s ambassador to Kabul Takayoshi Kuromaya, the Balkh Governor’s Media Office said in a statement late on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the Japanese ambassador met with the Balkh deputy governor to review the situation, assess ongoing development projects, and find solutions to the stated problems.

“After the establishment of the Islamic Emirate and the strengthening of security in Afghanistan, Japan is determined to implement more development projects in the country,” the statement quoted Japan’s ambassador as saying.

Meanwhile, the two sides discussed various issues such as the lack of clean drinking water, construction of dams, unwavering support for agriculture, construction of Amu River consolidation, implementation of more development projects, treatment of contagious diseases, capacity building of health personnel, construction of health centers in remote areas, and continuous coordination in the area of Japanese assistance.

Balkh is an important, industrial and port province in the north of the country.
