Work on removing IEA from ban list groups underway, Kabulov

KABUL: The Russian special representative for Afghanistan affairs Zamir Kabulov in an interview with the Russian state-run TASS news agency, on Wednesday, said that work is ongoing to remove the name of the Islamic Emirate from the list of banned groups in the country.
The Russian special representative for Afghan affairs, in response to a question about when this work will be done, said that it will be done whenever all the relevant parts of the process are completed.
He also said that efforts are underway to remove the name of the Islamic Emirate from the list of banned groups.
This is while the President of Russia recently, in a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization leaders, referred to the Islamic Emirate as a good ally in the fight against terrorism.
