Separate roads to be built for trucks in Torkham, Spinboldak ports, ministry

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Shaikh Hamdullah Nomani, in a meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce on Monday, said that specific roads will be built for cargoes in Torkham and Spinboldak ports of the country.

According to the ministry’s statement, to address the challenges facing traders, the representatives asked the ministry to prepare a plan and design for the construction of a road, a bridge and another large gate for trucks in Torkham and Spinboldak ports.

They said: “Hundreds of trucks are parked in the mentioned areas due to the narrowness of the road and the lack of proper facilities and by constructing more roads, they will get rid of the problems”.

Meanwhile, Nomani asked the representatives of the Ministry of Commerce and to share their requests, proposals and specifications with his-led ministry through an official letter for constructing the said roads.
