KABUL: As many as 44 people have been arrested along with hundreds of kgs of drugs in some provinces and a drug processing factory destroyed in Farah province, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday.
Following the anti-narcotics and crime operations of the ministry’s relevant police personnel, a person along with 89 kgs of drugs detained in Farah Road districts of Farah province and a person along with 142 kgs of opium and other kinds of drugs have been arrested in Spin Boldak district, Kandahar province, as well as 42 individuals in connection with the use and trafficking of drugs have been arrested in Parwan, Kapisa, Nimroz, Sar-e-Pul, Khost and Ghazni provinces, the statement said.
Meanwhile, around two tons of various types of drugs have been burned in the presence of the assigned delegation in Balkh today.
The detainees have been taken to the judicial organs for further investigation into their files.
