KABUL: Leading a high-ranking delegation the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, left for Iran, at the official invitation of that country, to attend the swearing ceremony of that country’s newly elected President, Masoud Pezeshkian, Arg said in a statement on Monday.
During the three-day visit, Mawlavi Kabir will hold bilateral meetings with key Iranian officials and discuss strengthening political and economic ties between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the statement said.
The deputy PM will also discuss challenges facing Afghan refugees in Iran and the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
Mawlavi Kabir will also meet with officials from a number of countries who are expected to attend Pezeshkian’s oath-taking ceremony, which is scheduled for Tuesday.
