Retaining wall inaugurated in Baghlan

KABUL: A retaining wall with a length of 246 meters, worth 3.7 million Afghani has been constructed and inaugurated in the country’s northern province of Baghlan, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said in a statement.

The wall with financial support of the World Food Program (WFP) has been constructed in Arbab Qalandar village of the Khost-Farang district of the province, the statement said.

With the completion of the project, thousands of acres of agricultural land will be protected from floods and torrential rains, as well as dozens of people were provided with job opportunities.
