Joint Afghan delegation, Malaysian officials discuss resolving issues facing Afghan students in Malaysia

KAULA LUMPUR: The Malaysia-based Afghan embassy has said that a joint delegation from the Ministries of Higher Education and Foreign Affairs met with the head of the South Asia and Central Asia division at the Malaysian Foreign Ministry.

According to the embassy, the meeting discussed resolving issues facing Afghan students residing in Malaysia and educational cooperation between Kabul and Kuala Lumpur

Also, the meeting participants discussed some other issues such as facilitating visa issuance, exchange of educational personnel between the two countries, Malaysia’s cooperation with the Afghan Ministry of Higher Education in increasing educational and managerial capacity, and short-term capacity-building programs.

The joint Afghan delegation is also scheduled to visit some reputable Malaysian universities and sign cooperation agreements, particularly in the area of scholarships for master’s and doctoral studies.

It is worth noting that a joint delegation from the Afghan Ministries of Higher Education and Foreign Affairs has been visiting Malaysia in recent days.
