KABUL: The protestors set fire to a hotel in the western city of Jessore, killing and injuring dozens of people in Bangladesh, the Russian state-run TASS news agency quoted Bangladesh media as saying.
“At least 24 people have lost their lives in this hotel and dozens more are injured,” TASS said, adding that the people died due to carbon monoxide poisoning in the hotel.
At the same time, the military authorities of Bangladesh have announced that they are consulting with the leaders of the protestors on the formation of an interim government.
Protestors have set fire to the houses of some high-ranking officials since yesterday.
In the pictures circulated on social media, the protesters are looting public property, and the angry protesters also destroyed the statue of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahabuddin also dissolved the parliament today.
It is worth noting that the Prime Minister of Bangladesh resigned from her post yesterday Monday, and left the country.
