KABUL: The officials of the National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) say that 3.6 million electronic ID cards have been distributed to applicants, in the last year.
The head of the National Statistics and Information Authority said in the government accountability program, held today, at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC).
The distribution of three million and six hundred thousand electronic ID cards in the last year shows a 23% increase compared to the previous year, said the head of NSIA, adding with this number, the total number of distributed ID cards reaches 13,868,000.
According to officials of the National Statistics Authority, based on the statistics collected by the agency, the population was 35.8 million last year.
