KABUL: The Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi, met with a delegation led by Amir Tavakkoli, a representative of the Iranian parliament, and officials from Iran’s largest industrial complex (Mobarakeh Steel Company), the ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, in the meeting, the Iranian delegation said that they are seeking to establish a special mineral economic zone between Afghanistan and Iran.
In addition to the special economic and industrial zone, the delegation discussed mineral exploration, investment in road and rail construction, iron ore extraction, the establishment of an iron ore processing plant, production of other iron products, and solar energy production, said the statement.
According to the statement, Minister Azizi, emphasized that the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs is determined to provide the necessary facilities for investment in the country.
He expressed their readiness to cooperate with Iran, taking into account the national interests of the country.
