IEA marks 105th anniversary of country’s Independence Day

KABUL: A ceremony was held at the Ministry of National Defense Hall to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the country’s Independence Day, the ministry said in a statement today.

The ceremony was attended by the officials of the Islamic Emirate, said the statement.

To mark Independence Day, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, in an official statement, declared today a public holiday.

 The then-British government officially recognized the independence of Afghanistan on Asad 28, 1229 (August 19, 1919).
