KABUL: Two check dams worth 4,940,000 Afghani (some 69,965 US dollars), have been inaugurated in Ghor province, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, said in a statement on Wednesday.
The check dams with the financial support of the ministry’s development budget have been constructed in the Al-Farooq and Saghar districts of Ghor province, the statement said.
The check dams have been built to control the floods and strengthen underground waters and have the capacity of storing 3 thousand cubic meters of water.
