Over five tons of expired food items burned in Samangan

KABUL: The country’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock said in a statement today that more than five tons of expired food items were set on fire in Samangan province.

According to the statement, more than five tons of expired food items were collected through the Expired Goods Procurement and Production Commission.

The expired items included 167 types of food and non-food items, said the statement adding this amount of expired items had been collected by the commission members from the markets of Samangan province.

It is worth mentioning that the process of inspecting the country’s markets to prevent the sale of expired food and non-food items is ongoing.
