KABUL: The Acting Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, held an online meeting with the Regional Director of the World Health Organization Hanan Balkhi, the Director of the World Health Organization for Afghanistan Edwin Ceniza Salvador, and the Director of Polio Eradication in the Eastern Mediterranean region, Dr. Hamid Jafari.
In the meeting, the Minister of Public Health discussed the development of health facilities, the capacity of health personnel, the prevention of infectious diseases, and some other issues.
Mawlavi Jalali also stressed on development of aid in addition to short-term aid.
Meanwhile, Balkhi, the head of the Eastern Mediterranean region of the World Health Organization, emphasized continuous and fundamental actions in addition to attracting international aid to Afghanistan’s health system.
More work should be done to improve the health system of Afghanistan, she said and assured of any kind of cooperation in this regard.
