KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, during a ceremony, kicked off the construction work on the second lane of the Kabul-Ghazni highway, his office said in a statement today.
According to the statement, the road starting from Kabul to the Dasht-e-Top area in the Sayedabad district of Maidan Wardak province.
Speaking in the ceremony, Mullah Baradar said: “Investment in transport and communication infrastructure is considered one of the fundamental and important measures of the Islamic Emirate, and in order to fulfill this promise, the work of this important project started today (Tuesday, September 10).
He also stressed the importance of quality work from the contracting company involved in the project.
It should be noted that this road from Kabul is 1,011 km long, with 9 big bridges and 594 culverts.
