Ministry of Hajj signs agreements with 132 companies for Umrah

KABUL: The officials of the Ministry of Hajj, and Islamic Affairs said that it has signed agreements with 132 companies for Umrah and pilgrimage services.

In a press conference held today, at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) sharing the ministry’s achievements, the officials said that 42 licenses have been granted to these companies, and necessary arrangements have been made for the transportation of 44,307 pilgrims and Umrah applicants to Saudi Arabia.

The officials noted that the activities of 40 contracted companies have been continuously monitored.

In the past one year, arrangements were made for the transportation of 30,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, as well as sending 652 scholars as instructors, said the officials.

Furthermore, the ministry highlighted its key activities over the past year, including organizing four training seminars for mosque imams in the center and provinces, managing 75 mosques in 14 provinces, and constructing five mosques in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Nuclear Energy Agency, National Standards Authority, Samangan provincial administration, and Farah provincial court.
