KABUL: The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, leading a high-ranking delegation, left for Herat province to inaugurate the practical work on the TAPI project within Afghanistan, Arg said in a statement this morning.
According to the statement, the TAPI project will first be inaugurated in Turkmenistan with the presence of senior officials of that country, and then the practical work on the project will be launched in Herat, Afghanistan.
The statement noted that the Prime Minister is heading to the “Salim Chashma” area in Turkmenistan to participate in the inauguration ceremony.
The practical work on the TAPI project is set to begin today in Afghanistan.
The Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project is a major regional initiative for the transfer of natural gas from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan and India.
