FM Muttaqi praises Uzbekistan embassy’s role in strengthening relations with Afghanistan

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, praised the Uzbekistan embassy’s role in strengthening relations with Afghanistan, the ministry said in a statement today.
He made the remarks in a farewell meeting with the Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan Shadmanov Yadgarkhoja, said the statement.
According to the statement, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, called diplomatic relations between Kabul and Tashkent as valuable following the Islamic Emirate’s takeover of Afghanistan.
“The appointment of an ambassador from the Islamic Emirate to Tashkent will open a new chapter in Afghanistan-Uzbekistan relations,” said the statement.
Meanwhile, the Uzbek ambassador, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in Kabul, expressed gratitude from the ministry of foreign affairs’ cooperation and mentioned that his mission in Afghanistan was full of memories.
He characterized his country’s relations with Afghanistan as progressing and suggested that both sides should enhance their cooperation in certain areas.
