More than 1, 000 tons of crude oil extracted daily, officials

KABUL: The officials of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum said that 1,300 tons of crude oil are extracted daily from the country’s oil wells.

The officials of the ministry in a press conference held today at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), sharing the ministry’s one-year achievements said that oil extraction is currently ongoing in 21 areas, including Qashqari, Angot, and Aq Darya mines.

“Signing of a contract for a 14-kilometer salt mine area in Andkhoy district of Faryab province, with the cost of $24 million for 15 years, as well as a salt mine in Takhar province worth 500 million Afghanis, are other achievements of the ministry within the past one year,” they said.

They further added that the contracts for drilling wells No. 33 and 35 in the Yatim Taq area of Jawzjan province have been signed with a Turkish company.
