Traffic accidents claimed one life, injured around 50 on Kabul-Jalalabad highway

MEHTARLAM: At least 1 person has been martyred and around 50 others wounded in three traffic accidents on Kabul-Jalalabad highway, a police spokesman of Laghman confirmed.

Police spokesman of Laghman, Younus Yousufzai, said that three traffic accidents took place on Sunday on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway on the outskirts of Laghman province in which one person was killed, and around 50 others were wounded.
“The first accident took place in the Daronta area, when two electronic type- vehicles crashed, the second incident occurred in Kaks area when a Haice and Mercidise van crashed with each other and the third occurred while two Saracha-type vehicles crashed each other, resulting in the death of one person and injuries of around 50 others,” he said.
The injured of incidents were transferred to Nangarhar Regional Hospital, said provincial officials.

The relevant officials linked the accidents to careless driving and high speed, as well as the poor roads.
