Minister Azizi inspects activities of Ghorian Iron Mine companies in Herat

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, during his visit to Herat, monitored the extraction activities of the Gorian Iron Mine companies in the province, the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

According to the statement, Minister Azizi also assessed the operations of the Bakhtar Steel and Awfi Bahram companies.

The companies, after achieving the contract to extract mines from the Gorian mine, have established a work camp covering 5,000 square meters, said the statement, adding that the camp includes a mosque, kitchen, dining hall, laboratory room, vehicle parking, and a road connecting the Islam Qala area to the mining site.

Also, the contracting companies are planning to generate 5.5 megawatts of solar power.

At the end of his inspection, the Acting Minister expressed gratitude for the activities carried out by the contracting companies at the Ghorian Iron Mine.

It is noteworthy that Block Four of the Ghorian Iron Mine is located 40 kilometers east of Iran’s Sangaan Iron Mine.
