KABUL: The Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, and his accompanying delegation attended the 7th Russian Energy Week International Forum in Moscow at the official invitation of that country, spokesman of the ministry Hamayoun Afghan said in a statement on Friday.
The forum was participated by Russian President Vladimir Putin and high-ranking representatives of energy sectors of 55 world countries, the statement said.
Russian Energy Week Forum includes sessions on the development of the electric, oil and gas, chemical, and coal industries, as well as events dedicated to import substitution, digital transformation, energy transition, and climate issues and serves as a platform for a discussion of the main challenges faced by the energy sector and topical problems involving the industry.
According to the statement, Mullah Badri also separately met with a number of representatives of Transnaft, Gazprom, and Ural Turbine companies and invited them to invest in Afghanistan’s oil and gas sectors.
