Perpetrators of attack on Foreign Tourists in Bamyan detained, Mujahid

KABUL: Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement on his X account that the country’s special forces detained key members of a disruptive group involved in attacks on government employees and foreign tourists in Bamyan.

According to the statement, the country’s special forces launched operations on the hideout of the disruptive group in which an explosive vest, two weapons, and ammunition have been seized, and a Tajik national, who intended to carry out a suicide attack, has also been arrested from their hideout.

“On the 12th of Sunbula of the current year, some individuals targeted the employees of the General Directorate for Command and Supervision of the Islamic Emirate, and foreign tourists in Bamyan had come from a training camp of the ISIS-Khorasan branch in Mastung, Balochistan,” the statement quoted him as saying.

Following the operations in Kabul and Faryab provinces, two members of this disruptive group were killed, while several others were arrested.
