IEA cabinet meeting approves development plan of Kabul city

KABUL: The cabinet meeting of the Islamic Emirate was held, with Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, on the chair, discussing various issues, including improving facilities in construction matters and creating job opportunities for the people, Arg said in a statement on Monday.

According to the statement, the cabinet meeting approved the proposed plan by the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing and Kabul Municipality, and instructed the KM to implement the plan, the statement said.

To facilitate the construction affairs in the Kabul city, the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has also been tasked to provide a plan so that people can build their buildings per urban standards, the statement added.

Also, the meeting approved the assigned delegation’s recommendation regarding the acquisition of the fourth plot of land for the first phase of the Khawaf-Herat railway project, and it was decided that construction work should begin.

The report from the appointed delegation on the acquisition of 30 kilometers of land for the first phase of the Aqina-Andkhoy railway was also approved, with the Ministry of Public Works tasked to take practical action in this regard.
