KABUL: The General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports has said in a statement that the Kabul national team has won the championship of the third National Handball Tournament.
According to the statement, the tournament was held among the teams from Balkh, Bamyan, Jawzjan, Sar-e-Pul, Ghor, Kunduz, Kunar, Logar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Maidan Wardak, Parwan, Herat provinces, as well as the Kabul and Kabul A teams, at the 2,500-seat gymnasium of the directorate.
The athletes from Herat secured second place, while the Jawzjan team achieved third place in the competitions, said the statement.
The tournament lasted for 10 days, and at the end, 18 top players were invited to join the national handball team.
