KABUL: A delegation consisting of representatives of UNAMA, the Chinese embassy in Kabul, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has visited the Barikab industrial parks, spokesman of the province’s governor Hekmatullah Shamim, said in a statement.
According to the statement, the purpose of the visit was to discuss efforts to secure the electricity needed for the Barikab industrial parks, as well as issues related to canalization, the construction of 2nd and 3rd phases, and exploring investment opportunities in the industrial park.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mawlavi Ahmadullah Zahid, emphasized that there is a critical need for electricity to begin investment in the Barikab industrial parks.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, the executive director of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, said that efforts have been made to provide electricity to investors and industrialists in the Barikab industrial park.
According to the statement, China is working to provide clean energy to the mentioned parks by sending representatives from the “Huawei” company.
Indrika Ratwatte, the political deputy of UNAMA, also stated that UN agencies in Afghanistan are committed to facilitating and addressing the necessary requirements in the Barikab industrial park.
The Barikab industrial parks have been established on an area of 2,000 jeribs of land in the Bagram district of Parwan province, with significant infrastructure already constructed.
