KABUL: A solar-powered water supply network worth 5,200,000 Afghanis (some 75,492 U.S. dollars) has been inaugurated in Kandahar, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said in a statement on Monday.
According to the statement, the water supply network, with the financial support of partner International Organizations, has been constructed in Salkozo village, Panjwai district of Kandahar province.
With the completion of this network, access to safe drinking water has been made available for 240 families, said the statement.
Efforts are underway to ensure access to safe water for citizens through Emirati institutions and international organizations cooperating with Afghanistan.
