KABUL: A trilateral agreement for financial support of the Kajaki power dam project, worth $12 million, has been signed, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat said in a statement late on Sunday night.
According to the statement, the agreement was signed between Abdul Bari Omari, the CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, Dr. Shakir Jalali, the CEO of Afghan National Bank, and Burak Ansal, the head of Kajaki Power Production Company.
The Afghan National Bank committed to providing $12 million in a Murabaha financing arrangement to support the Kajaki power dam, for the next five years, said the statement.
Since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, efforts to generate electricity from domestic resources to achieve self-sufficiency in this sector have accelerated.
