KABUL: The Acting Minister of Water and Energy Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour, in a meeting with Stephen Rodriques, the representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for Afghanistan, said on Wednesday that implementation of water management and energy development projects is one of the priorities and important needs of Afghans.
Addressing the meeting, Minister Mansour asked the UNDP representative to cooperate with the ministry in transferring Panjshir’s river water to Kabul.
“Water resource management ensures safe and clean water security, public health, and sanitation, among other advantages. So, prioritizing water resource management addresses the vital needs of both our and future generations,” he said.
Meanwhile, the representative of the United Nations Development Program for Afghanistan assured that the UNDP will cooperate with Afghanistan in the above-mentioned issues.
