KABUL: A least 17 individuals have been arrested over various crimes in some provinces of the country in the past day, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement on Thursday.
According to the statement, the individuals have been arrested in connection with theft, smuggling, moral corruption, and using drugs in Samangan, Nimruz, Takhar, and Balkh provinces.
Also, the police personnel of Herat discovered and seized an amount of weapons and military equipment, said the statement, adding that the police personnel of Nimroz has also prevented smuggling of 300 animals.
The arrestees have been taken to the judicial organs for further investigations into their files.
