UK intelligence chief warns of retaliatory attacks following Hamas and Hezbollah leaders’ assassinations

KABUL: Following the targeting of leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah by the Israeli regime, John Sawers, former head of Britain’s M16 intelligence agency, has warned of potential retaliatory attacks in the UK.

He made the remarks in an interview with Sky News, a Western media outlet, adding that the assassination of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders could trigger attacks in Britain and called for readiness among British intelligence agencies.

According to Sawers, dissatisfaction over the conditions in Gaza and the violence faced by Palestinians could lead to attacks within the UK.

This warning comes in the wake of the assassination of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, which has sparked various reactions across the region and the world.
