KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, met with Zhao Xing, Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan, and his accompanying delegation here in Kabul, the deputy spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Hamdullah Fetrat, said.
In the meeting, Zhao Xing emphasized that the current conditions in Afghanistan are favorable for economic and trade initiatives, highlighting the ongoing expansion of bilateral cooperation in various sectors between Afghanistan and China.
Afghanistan’s export levels to China have shown significant growth, accounting for 11.5% of trade this year, he said, expressing hope that this figure would rise to 25% in the coming year.
He also added that Afghan products would be exempt from taxes from December of this year.
Meanwhile, Mawlavi Kabir expressed gratitude for China’s decision to waive taxes on Afghan exports and urged other neighboring countries to adopt similar supportive measures.
He highlighted that the tax exemption by China on Afghan goods will positively affect trade activities.
