Putin warns Ukraine use of long-range missiles will put NATO at war with Russia

KABUL: Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an interview with the Russian state-run TV, said that if Ukraine is granted permission to use long-range weapons supplied by the West, Moscow will enter into a conflict with NATO.

“Only NATO forces have the capability to launch long-range missiles from Ukraine deep into Russian territory. Ukrainian forces do not possess the ability to use the long-range missiles provided by the West,” he said.

Putin added that his military is currently working on how to respond if they use these missiles.

Putin further noted that using long-range missiles to target deep into Russian territory would require satellite intelligence, which is in the possession of the West.

This warning comes as Western countries and NATO have been consulting for weeks regarding Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons and targeting the depths of Russian territory.
