KABUL: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a statement on its X account that Australia is providing $1.3 million in assistance to Afghanistan.
OCHA emphasized that the aid from Australia will address the immediate needs of vulnerable Afghans.
Previously, the UN office had announced that Australia donated $2.6 million in aid to Afghanistan.
Since, the establishment of the humanitarian fund for Afghanistan, Australia has provided approximately $75 million in assistance. Also, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has stated that around ten million Afghan children are in dire need of assistance this year.
