KABUL: The contract for the Jawzjan cement production factory with an investment of $163 million has been signed today in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, his office said in a statement.
The contract has been signed between the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and the Turkish 77 Company to build a large cement production plant in the Yatim Taq area of Jawzjan province, the statement said.
According to the statement, the plant will have a daily production capacity of 3,000 tons of cement.
Based on the contract, the Turkish company will be allowed to explore, extract, produce cement, and deliver social services, the statement said, adding that more than 1,200 people would be provided with job opportunities.
