KABUL: The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Ambassador to China, Mawlavi Asadullah Bilal Karimi, during a ceremony inaugurated the Afghanistan-China railway, with the presence of Yue Xiaoyong the special representative of China, and other officials.
According to a statement from the Afghanistan Embassy, the Afghanistan-China railway inaugurated in the Jaingsu province of the Nantong city and is set to transport the first cargo shipment for Afghanistan to the Hairatan port.
“The shipment will include 50 containers of electrical equipment, clothing, and other commercial goods from Afghan traders, which are expected to arrive at Hairatan port in Balkh province within 20 days,” said the statement.
Mawlavi Asadullah Bilal Karimi emphasized the significance of the Afghanistan-China railway’s inauguration, stating it is as a result of the Islamic Emirate’s economy-oriented policies.
He expressed hope that, like the inauguration of this railway, there will also be a ceremony for the opening of the Wakhan Corridor in the future.
Since, ths re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, relations between Kabul and Beijing have been expanding daily in political, economic, and commercial areas.
