KABUL: The spokesman of the Ministry of Public Works Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas, said in a statement on Wednesday that asphalting 102 kilometers of the Kabul-Kandahar highway has been completed.
“The asphalt work on the highway was contracted with multiple construction companies in four sections, and asphalting of the road is being carried out in three layers, with the completion of two layers currently completed,” he said.
However, he did not provide any information regarding the cost of asphalting the 102 kilometers of the road.
The Ministry of Public Works began the comprehensive reconstruction of the Kabul-Kandahar highway last year and the reconstruction work on the highway is ongoing under the supervision of contracted companies.
