Four large hangars worth over $1.1 million to be built in Islam Qala customs

HERAT: Construction work on four large hangars, worth 78 million Afghanis (some 1,164,438 U.S. dollars), has been inaugurated at the Islam Qala customs facility, the Herat governor’s press office said in a statement today.

According to the statement, the work on hangars was kicked off by Mawlavi Hayatullah Muhajer Farahi, the deputy governor of Herat, and Mufti Abdul Mateen Saeed, the deputy minister of finance.

The customs facilities must be built in accordance with international standards, said the speakers in the ceremony and assured the Islamic Emirate’s commitments in this regard, said the statement.

According to the statement, standardizing customs would provide numerous facilities and conveniences for traders and transporters.

Islam Qala customs, located on the border between Afghanistan and Iran, is considered one of the important ports in the country.
