India-based IEA consulate starts passport distribution process

KABUL: The Indian-based Islamic Emirate consulate has kicked off passport distribution in Mumbai, India, the deputy spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement today.

Based on degree no 683 of the leader of the Islamic Emirate all ministries and Emirati departments are obligated to provide necessary facilities to applicants, said the statement.

According to the statement, following the decree, the Ministry has instructed the Afghan Consulate in Mumbai to initiate the passport issuance process for migrants, students, and traders residing in India.

“From Today [Monday, November 11, 2024] Afghan citizens whose passports have expired or who do not possess a passport can visit the Afghan Consulate in Mumbai to obtain their passports,” said the statement. Recently a high-ranking Indian delegation during their trip to Afghanistan, met with the acting ministers of national defense and foreign affairs.
