KABUL: The Deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, in an audio clip, said today that the Iranian Ministry of Justice delegation arrived in Kabul.
According to him, the purpose of the delegation’s visit to Kabul is to discuss matters related to prisoners with officials of the Islamic Emirate.
He described the Iranian delegation’s trip to Afghanistan as a positive step, emphasizing that Afghan prisoners should serve the remainder of their sentences within the country.
This comes in the wake of reports from Iranian media yesterday, which indicated that Iranian judicial officials were in discussions regarding the transfer of 1,000 Afghan prisoners to Afghanistan.
According to the reports, the transfer process is expected to be completed within the next two months.
