KABUL: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with the Iranian Deputy Minister of Justice, Dr. Askar Jalalian, and his accompanying delegation, here in Kabul, the deputy spokesman of foreign ministry Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, said in a statement.
In the meeting, bilateral relations, refugees and prisoners in Iran, economic and commercial cooperation, and regional political cooperation were discussed.
Minister Muttaqi thanked Iran for the kinship of Afghans for four decades and has asked the country for better interaction and tolerance with Afghans.
“The Islamic Emirate is committed to working together with the Islamic Republic of Iran in relation to the release of Afghan prisoners,” he said, asking the Deputy Minister of Justice of Iran to cooperate with Afghanistan in the return of the Afghan prisoners.
Dr. Jalalian added that the Islamic Republic of Iran will start the process of transferring Afghan prisoners from Iran based on the agreements reached in the near future by continuing its cooperation.
In the meeting, bilateral political relations, problems of Afghan refugees in Iran, development of economic cooperation, and many other issues were discussed. It is worth noting that a high-ranking Iranian delegation has come to Kabul to exchange Afghan and Iranian prisoners.
