MAZAR-E-SHARIF: Emergency edible and non-edible humanitarian aids have been distributed to 500 flood-affected families in Balkh province, the provincial governor’s press office said in a statement on Saturday.
According to the statement, the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital, and several districts experienced heavy rain accompanied by storms on Saturday evening, as a result of which some villages of the Sholgara district suffered financial losses.
Based on the decree of the province’s governor Mohammad Yousuf Wafa, the Natural Disaster Management Authority has provided necessary assistance to the affected families.
Also, plans are underway to distribute aid to another 700 families.
