Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee discusses solar power generation

KABUL: The meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee has been held on Tuesday, at Marmarin Palace, discussing the generation of solar power in some provinces of the country, the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said in a statement.

The meeting discussed the suggested proposals of the private sector for the production of solar power in Kapisa, Herat, and Kabul provinces, as well as for the installation of batteries to store solar energy in Kandahar province, the statement said.

According to the statement, also, proposals for establishing laboratories at ten key border ports of the country to control the quality of agricultural and food products, and for developing commercial nurseries for pistachio orchards and other fruit-bearing trees in Herat province, have been discussed in the meeting, the statement said.

After comprehensive discussions, a number of special committees were tasked to conduct technical and economic evaluations in collaboration with the proposing companies regarding the proposed proposals and submit their final reports to the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee by the designated deadlines.
