KABUL: A special meeting of sectorial ministries was held with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, on the chair, to follow up on discussions between senior officials of the Islamic Emirate and Russia.
The Deputy PM office said in a statement today that the meeting which was held at the Marmarin Palace, various ministries—including Water and Energy, Mines and Petroleum, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Urban Development and Housing, Industry and Commerce, Public Works, and Transport and Civil Aviation were tasked with identifying and reporting their major projects to the office of the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs.
According to the statement, the projects are intended to be shared with the Russian side for investment opportunities.
The Economic Deputy PM Office also assigned the inter-ministerial committee to organize an online meeting with Russian representatives to discuss the relevant issues.
Notably, a high-level Russian delegation led by Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council, visited Afghanistan 20 days ago, during which they called for an increase in economic, trade, and transit cooperation with the Islamic Emirate.
