Construction of 19-km road begins in Kunduz

KABUL: The spokesman of the Ministry of Public Works Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, said in a statement today that construction work on a 19-kilometer road worth 498 million Afghani has been started in Kunduz province.

According to Haqshenas, the road will connect the Dasht-e Archi district with the center of Kunduz province, said the statement, adding that the project will be completed and operational within the next 18 months.

The road will also link the eight districts of the Kokcha district in Takhar province with Kunduz, as well as connecting Kunduz with Balkh, Samangan, Baghlan, and Kabul provinces.

With the completion of the project, the issues faced by residents of the Takhar and Dasht-e Archi districts will be addressed and facilitate the timely transportation of agricultural products for farmers.
