KABUL: The General Consulate of Afghanistan in Karachi, Pakistan, said that Japan is working to provide assistance to Afghan migrants residing in refugee camps in Pakistan.
The Consulate said in a statement today, that Hattori Masuro, the Japanese Consul General in Karachi, expressed his interest during a meeting with his Afghan counterpart, Abdul Jabbari Takhari.
In the meeting, the Japanese Consul General sought information from Takhari about the situation of Afghan migrants in Pakistan, particularly in the Sindh province.
The Afghan Consul General in Karachi highlighted that Afghan migrants in the refugee camps face numerous challenges and lack basic living facilities.
He urged the Japanese government to focus on building hospitals and standard health clinics, as well as educational centers for the children of Afghan migrant families.
Japan has been one of the contributing countries to assist the people of Afghanistan over the past three years.
